London Laureate, Laurie Bolger currently hosts BANG Said the Gun, London’s leading Stand-Up Poetry Night and multi-award winning poetry radio show “Round @ Laurie’s” live from Camden’s Roundhouse. Laurie is lead facilitator for BBC 1Xtra’s Words First. Laurie’s debut collection ‘Box Rooms’ is out this year.


Long Bio
Recently shortlisted for Young Poet Laureate for London Laureate, Laurie Bolger is a poet and presenter with a style that is consistently down to earth and accessible. 

Laurie Bolger was born in London W10 in 1989, she studied English and Irish Literature in Ireland and Creative Writing at Bath Spa University. Laurie currently hosts BANG Said the Gun London’s leading Stand-Up Poetry Night and multi-award winning poetry radio show “Round @ Laurie’s” live from Camden’s iconic Roundhouse. 

Laurie was recently appointed lead facilitator for BBC 1Xtra’s Words First London. Laurie has performed at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Old Vic Theatre and 02 Arena as well as being Poet in Residence in schools libraries and Queen Elizabeth’s Olympic Park. Her first collection ‘Box Rooms’ will be on shelves later this year.
